All nominations for an employer-sponsored visa must be accompanied by a Health Workforce Certificate. To apply for a Health Workforce Certificate, you will need to submit an online application form to HR+ Tasmania using the button provided above.
HR+ Tasmania will work with the Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) in the relevant jurisdiction to assess the application. Applications will be assessed according to the Program Guidelines as developed by the Department of Health and will use the Department of Health’s Assessment Tool to ensure the process is effective, transparent, and consistent with relevant legalisation and regulatory frameworks.
A Health Workforce Certificate will only be provided where the position responds to genuine workforce need as determined by the Assessment Tool. Processing service standard times apply with the majority of assessment applications being processed within 5-10 business days. Where a practitioner has not yet been identified an application for position assessment can be completed, and, if recommended an email advising ‘certified pending practitioner details’ will be provided (practitioner details need to be provided prior to the Employer Sponsored Nomination application).
Health Workforce Certificates are valid for a period of 6 months from the date of issue. Some positions are eligible for automatic or expedited certification. Health Workforce Certificates can be re-issued once only for a further 6 months. To apply for an existing Health Workforce Certificate to be re-issued for a further 6 months, submit an online application form using the button provided above and select ‘renew existing application’ at the top of the form.
